Hello, my name is Lisa Lang, owner of Happy Mermaid Images. I look forward to taking your child’s school portraits.
How to prepare for picture day:
The backdrop is black photography paper. Choose bright-colored clothes or a color that matches your child's eyes. Please do not dress your child in neon colors which do not photograph well. It's best to choose shirts without words or graphics. Words distract from a child's face.
The students each have a three minutes photo session. An assistant brings the children, a few at a time, to the on-site studio. I use a wet wipe on every student's face that needs one. If your child experiences breakouts from wet wipes, please let me know by informing the school director.
Children write their names on a blackboard as a way of recording their handwriting for the school year.
Children may bring a small prop to picture day. The prop must be something they can hold in their hands such as a sports ball, an instrument, a favorite book, a stuffed animal or a blankie. These things need to be stored in a child's backpack before and after their picture session.
I use a simple online ordering and viewing gallery for parents. Each child receives 2-5 artistically edited pictures in color and black and white to choose from at rates competitive with typical school portraits. Digital downloads and prints are available for purchase. Prints are delivered to the school and organized by class.
